1 year old Kapex - noted that fence halves are not in plane. Mine are concave (as mentioned in a 2013 thread). Solutions would be to make a wooden fence face (solution mentioned in the 2013 thread), send it back or bend the fence straight. My error is about 1/32 of concavity - fence half to fence half. I suspect this may be within acceptable tolerance for Festool. It is not acceptable for me however. I wonder about removing the fence and notching the back center with a band saw so that it will bend slightly and thus be adjustable. Has anyone tried this? Thoughts?

After reading your post I just went out and checked mine which was set up. I took off the removable fences. If I then slid a straight edge along the left fence towards the blade, when it hit the other fence it stopped. I then got out a 6mm hex key and loosened the two right fence mounting bolts. The fence sprung back into the correct position. I was then able to tighten the bolts and it is fine now. I suspect that the bolt tightening process might move occasionally a fence out of plane.
In my case it might be something else whereas my saw dates back to 2010.
You might want to try this and see if your reacts the same way.

Well thanks, that was interesting.
I took out the right fence screws. When I rechecked the fence with a Starrett straight edge, to my surprise, it was flat.
I then took out the left fence screws - with the knowledge that I might completely screw-up the calibration. I opened up the right side holes in the fence (front side only) with a round file and reassembled. Note that all the holes have some play - but, I guess, not enough on the right. I recalibrated with a large precision square (like the old days of radial arm saws). Perhaps I just got lucky but I ended up with a flat fence and a cross-cut sample with no light visible under a square. That is fine for me. I have nightmares of trying to do 5-sided cuts on a Felder slider - doesn't work in my hands.
