Kapex miter lock problem ?

I bought my Kapex a year ago.I have not had any problem with it until last week.Now i know that when the Kapex first came out,there was a problem with a small metal plate that made it hard to move the miter table.I also experienced that when i bought the Kapex the first time.(the one i have now is my second one).
Since this little problem,Festool has replaced that metal plate with a thinner one.So now it's all fine.But my problem now is that when it is really cold,i can't lock the miter.I can push dowm on the lever but i can still move the miter just as good as if it was not locked!
I have the feeling that it is a problem due to cold/hot weather.
I was installing 7" cove crown molding and i had to cut it on the flat.Since there is not a detent on the 31.6* I had to lock the miter but it would not stay.

Does anyone else have any issues like that?

Mine has been sitting in the freezing weather for a few weeks and I don't notice any issues. 

Is there something wedged in there?  Some saw dust or a chip?

even with it locked I can still move it around if I try real hard.

Is there any adjustment for the lock?  Is it only at 31.6?

Nothing wedged or dust.Of course if it is on a detent like 22.5 or 45 it stays but any other it will not stay locked in when i push the handle down.
But i checked today and it is fine.It lockes but it is warmer today then it was last week.
I'm guessing that because metal expend with heat and retract when cold that temperture has some to do with it?
But i'm wondering if anyone else has issues like it.

Resurrecting an old thread-

I ran into this issue with a Kapex I purchased about 9 months ago.

The other day I found that if I was 'off-detent' and 'locked', I could still get the table to rotate with a minimal amount of effort. Since I was working near a detent at the time it would obviously drop in the that locked position. I gave the mechanism a quick inspection and nothing jumped out at me as an obvious cause.

I could see the the parts were moving like I though they should while operating the lock while viewing from underneath but obviously there was not enough friction being generated for it to function properly.

Is the something in particular is should be looking for? is there an adjustment?

Based on an observation when I just changed the locking plate to a new one, I think it may have something to do with the tension on the two torx screws that hold that bottom plate on.  Try tightening or loosening them slightly to see what difference you get.
