Kapex miter saw problem

Just received my new Kapex saw and tried it out for the first time yesterday.  One thing I've noticed is that it doesn't completely cut all the way through the board.  It always leaves a small kerf uncut towards the fence.  I can usually break it off cleanly with my finger but I was wondering how to correct this.  I assume it's an adjustment issue but thought I would ask here first before I tried anything.
