Kapex Miter Saw

I recently purchased one of these saws.  I was doing a small trimming job recently.  I found out rather quickly, that with the way the vertical fences are set up, with the large gap by the saw blade.  That when doing a return on a piece of base, or any kind of a molding for that matter, you will have the small piece flying all over.

I came up with a solution to the problem, if any one else has encountered this problem. let me hear from you, and I will expound on my solution.

This is being discussed in several threads so I pretty sure there is an interest in a solution.

I am also pretty sure that letting the blade stop before moving anything, really helps out.
I cut way too many returns.
