I got a question about my boom arm and small shop solutions in general. That's really flattering and it got me going on documenting some more solutions. Here is my Kapex station.
The solution had to:
- Hang on the wall to keep the floor free
- Utilize a minimum of space (i.e. space behind the wings should be free)
- Kapex should be easy to detach, but equally easy to attach with repeatability
- Left wing should be detachable
- Good fence for accuracy and repeatability (i.e. Incra)

The wall hung frame was built to fit the studs in te wall for rigidity. Hence the odd measurements on the frame.

A hole under the saw prevents small pieces of wood to be trapped.

The space behing the "wing" is not needed for the miter station. I chose to leave this space open. This makes for a great place to store longer stuff, i.e. clamps, cleaning kit, etc. Everything in my shop hangs on french cleaths. This is true even for the waste bin hanging behind the Kapex and for the blade holder to the right and the clamp racks, etc.

The left wing is detachable. But even when it's attached I can reach all the things behind it.
[attachthumb=#]
The wing attaches directly to the Kapex. I took the screw and bracket from the small extension table for the Kapex (the crown-something-sawing-thing)
[attachthumb=#]
I cut a block of wood to the precise angle of the front of the Kapex. This block is used to reference the wing when attaching it for precise repeatability. No fence adjustment needed.

The wing rests on a foldable.. Hmm what's this called in english?
[attachthumb=#]
The "thing" is built very sturdy to be able to hold big chunks of wood. This also means that I have a really sturdy holder for other things.
[attachthumb=#]
The "thing" in folded position

A magnet holds the thing in folded position. The same magnet is used in unfolded position to mate the diagonal support with the horisontal bar.

This solution is kind of tailored for my shop. I doubt that anyone would want it exactly like this. But if anyone wants the plans, just tell me.
