[scared] guys I was cutting some maple and it barely made it thru the first cut. Now it has no power and flips the breaker??? It smelled like burned wood??? I can't get it to go up to full power even under no load, just pulling the trigger.HELP

Thanks
Frank

check your source, plug somewhere else,do a voltage check, plug something else in the same place, that eliminates the variables ,isolate the problem to the saw. then call indiana on tues

Is it a GFCI breaker or a regular breaker

are you plugging into an outlet or extension cord?

What circuit size it it? voltage where you plug it in?

I was using the plug on my ct33 and then I tried a power plug with a breaker switch. I have always used it in my ct33.

Just received the packaging material from Festool to return the Kapex, boxed it up and brought it to UPS.
Very impressed that they offered to send me the packaging material and instructions to pack it up safely.
Lets hope it's not too serious, it was 90 to ship to Indiana.

Just want everyone to know that I experienced my first encounter with Festool Service and they EXCEEDED all my expectations. The experience truly reinforces why I am a Believer in not just the tools but the Brand. Here is the scenario:

Sent an email Labor day weekend

Received a call back Tuesday Morning at 8:45 am, Monday was a holiday

The technician took my info and sent me packaging materials at no cost to me to return my saw safely...WOW

I received the packaging 3 days later on Friday

I packaged the saw and returned it on Monday

It got to Indiana Wednesday

Thursday morning I got a call at 11 am telling me my saw was repaired and he went thru all the items replaced

I received my saw 3 business days later  [big grin]

NOW here is the kicker.....They replaced 16 parts and warranted the 4 most expensive parts. They discounted almost double what I was actually charged and the Labor was only 31 DOLLARS.....Can you say WOW.

The KICKER is the saw is from 2007 and they didn't need to warranty anything.

FESTOOL ROCKS

Glad to read about happy customers and ANY company going further than they need to.  Enjoy the Kapex!

No Chris, it was completely fine until the day it lost power? Just happy that it's back home in the shop creating saw dust :)

Glad to hear it worked out for you. That IS some level of service that's rarely seen in other tool manufs..  [eek]  [big grin]
