Kapex Power

Hi has any one had experience of running a Kapex ( & Midi Vac ) from a generator ? I have heard that the power surges can damage the saws motor.

There is a chap on here in the uk who has searched high and low for a decent portable gennie for festools. They can't be run on normal ones due to the electronics.
