I'm losing track of all those with  problems. Thought it would be cool to see which bucket everyone's in.  I'm holding my 1300 for the moment.

How about adding another item to your list?    I think the damn Festool manual is to blame for a lot of problems.  Thank God for Rick Cristopherson and Bob Marino.  Without them, I probably would have returned my Kapex.

I could only see 5 options or I would put it in for you.

Bone, I'm not sure I like the "not fixed" options. Someone reading the poll choices could easily be mislead or jump to conclusions that Festool isn't working towards fixing this issue for all Kapex owners. More options are in order here. Since only five choices are available maybe two polls would be a better idea. One for saws in working order/ones with the problem and when they started and a second poll for if the new spring plate worked or if you got a new saw as the fix. or at least change the wording to "not fix yet". Just a thought.

ok makes no diff to me.  Not fixed is not fixed as in a point in time. I'm still confident that it will be resolved.  I made the change.

The poll is wrong.
We need one more option.
The 'non fixed yet' is only valid for today.
If you vote in this line you must have the option to change it when the tool is fixed.

We may need another poll 4the poll? ::)

I'm in no position to buy one....but I do have it on the list.

With all the issues I've seen so far I must admit I'm glad I haven't forked over that amount of cash yet. I really like festool so don't get me wrong, but that is really a big chunk of cash to hand over and have something with issues.

It's like a first generation auto. There will be bugs.  I'm still planning on getting one. I'm just going to give it a bit to make sure they have it fixed and the new units in the pipeline.

How is this a first generation?  This saw has been available in the rest of the world for quite a while now, yes?

Has it been changed from the international version?  if so, then ok it's the first US generation.  Is that  better?  TIC :}

bones,
You can add more options to the poll by clicking "edit poll" then clicking on the "(add option)" feature which appears just below the current list of choices.
If you want to allow people to change their votes, I'll have to do that for you.
Let me know if this makes sense.

Matt, if you could allow the vote change  that that would be great.  Thanks for the education and I would like to add a couple options. One for myself would be are you waiting till its fixed before buying.  Secondly, one persone brought up a good point.  If they get the problem resolved they would like to change the vote.  Is that possible?

I edited the poll to allow people to change their votes.  Once that's done, they can change their vote once their problem is resolved, or if they change their minds in any other way about the Kapex.
Matthew

I've been doing the math and it would seem to me that the votes in the "waiting to buy" and "decided not to buy" should equal about zero in a post asking "Have you purchased a Kapex and..."
I think that the "Waiting" and "Decided not" may be more useful on another poll. Not this one.

Just my thoughts

Festools documentation has always been terrible.  Nice tools though.

Well the number of votes has not changed in a while it stands at 103.  I've also noticed that the number of unresolved has not changed so I don't know if that means they are still broke or folks did not come back and change their vote.  The whole issue seems to be quiting down, so should I delete the poll or let her go?

I'm not quite sure how to answer the poll. My first Kapex wasn't quite perfect, but the next one Festool sent out (manufactured May 2008) was nearly perfect right out of the box, just had to adjust the lasers to fit my cutting preferences. I answered "problem initially, but fixed"
