Kapex Purchase question

I'm preparing to place an order for the Kapex, MFT/3-MINI, UG extension set, aftermarket T-track bracket from Multiblades, and CT MINI with bags. (Do I need to specify a bigger hose?)

Is there anything else I should be getting for this saw station?

Thanks

Do what I did buy the universal cleaning set with it. You get a non anti static 36mm hose a cleaning set all in a sys5. Then cut the hose in half and 're-attach the end. You now have a perfect size kapex hose.

The code is 497702

Thanks for the tip!

I actually already have the Tradesperson/Installer cleaning set but it came with a 50MM antistatic hose.  We never use the hose so would be ideal to cut down.  Would that work as well?  I'm just uncertain if that large of a hose will fit the Kapex.  Also does it matter if it is anti-static or Non anti-static?  It seems to me the anti-static would be advantageous.

Thanks

You don't really need an anti static hose with the kapex. I know a very good festool guy and he doesn't even use the anti static hose with his own kapex.

Not sure about the 50mm hose, I know you can get a reducer but I'm not sure how well the 50mm hose works with the kapex. All I know is the 36mm one is recommended one.

Do you mean the Industrial Cleaning Set? It's the only one I know of that has a 50mm hose.

The Tradesman Cleaning Set has a 36mm AS hose as does the Workshop Cleaning Set. The Universal Cleaning Set has a 36mm non-AS hose.

The 36mm hose is definitely what you want with the Kapex. It improves the dust extraction SIGNIFICANTLY. The 50mm hose won't fit without some sort of adapter.

We use imperial measurements at our shop.  What about replacement tapes for the UG extensions?  I'm actually uncertain how much we will even use the flip stop, but to others that own the saw, based on your experience, is that something you would recommend?

I have the Multiblades t-track brackets on my extensions and noticed that this throws off the tape on the extensions. I've been thinking about putting new tapes over them that I can calibrate to the saw with the new brackets. Lee Valley has some that have imperial and metric on them.

FYI.  The Festool metric scales run about $26 per side and are listed in the ekat.

Peter

Does festool sell Imperial scales?

Thanks
