Kapex UG wing extension question

Hi there,

Will the UG extension wings lay flat on a workbench with the leg folded up? If so,  when secured to the kapex, is the entire setup level at the same height? Thinking of making a mobile kapex cart with the extensions laying flat on top and secure. I’d like to be able to remove the wings and possibly use them attached to my mft at times. Thanks for any info

Yes it should lay flat and level. It does have feet for that setup.

With the Kapex (without cart) on flat ground you can substitute the wings (sans the rulers and adjustable stop blocks) with size 1 systainers, these are the same height than the kapex table (at least true for the 120, would surprise me if it would be different with the smaller one).

[member=53905]Gregor[/member] - that height consistency was the case with the older style Systainers but the t-locs are slightly taller with their different foot design and you might need a 1/4" or so piece of ply under the Kapex 120.

There was a thread the other day on this here on FOG.

Wait, what?
Didn't notice that. Do you have a link for me, please?

See this thread... http://festoolownersgroup.com/festo...sys1-not-the-same-height/msg550284/#msg550284

Thanks for the link. From that topic:

Fun fact: T-Loc SYS1 and Kapex KS-60 are a perfect match...

Not much help, I know. I just wanted to make sure this info is available for someone stumbling across the the thread.

So:
Kapex 120: Classic SYS 1
Kapex 60: T-Loc SYS 1
I stand corrected, sorry for any confusion this might have caused.

Shitty move from Festool though, IMHO, to change this detail on the systainers.
I suspect this also throws off alignment of a stack of systainers and an MFT/3?

Well its 1/4”or so difference.

Not ideal but you could make four blocks and drill out with a Forster and inset legs of the MFT to leave a 1/4 step up to match a stack of Systainers.

Similar for the Kapex on the ground.

Personally I will take the stackability and quick latching of the difference for an outfeed support.

The price of progress I guess.
