I need to spray some cabinets and it has to be  SW color match. I want to buy local and they have Solo and Kem Aqua. I have used Solo but with light colors it needs more coats then I want to spray and then possibly add clear on top of. I am also looking to do this with a Pro Shot. I know not ideal but have sprayed Solo with zero issues with it.

Can I spray Kem Aqua with a Pro Shot 2 with the 11 tip? I have zero experience with KA does it have a consistency of a latex or is it thin like a real lacquer? Does it flow out better with fine atomization or spread out with thicker coat?

I like using Solo as you can touch or do edges with brush where needed but I am told KA is a much better coating to give cab shop sprayed look.

Anybody have real world experience? Thanks I appreciate the help.

Where are you located? If your close enough to me I have no problem running through the product with you.

It is closer to lacquer.

Which 11? You'll need a Fine Finish tip and holder.

Sprays best through an HVLP or LVLP.

Max wet mils is 4.

The KA + White (seeing as you are tinting it you're using KA + White) can micro foam when shot with an airless.

If you have problems with micro foaming use General Finish Enduro Extender @ 10%.

If you have small areas to touch up, you can use a brush, not recommended, but it can be done.

I am in SOCAL but appreciate the offer. I went with Solo, it is a reface with new doors and there is going to be a lot of small brushed or rolled areas on the faces and carcasses.  I also think it is better for what not is being sprayed with. I hate refaces they are more work then just building new cabinets.

I will try it on next project as i have watched some of the work shown on here.

Thanks again and that answer swayed my decision. Thanks!!
