Kity 636 planer thicknesser

I bought one of these from ebay. When I picked it up it was a bit of a dog. The rust didn't show on the pictures and it's a million miles away from being set up properly. It's so bad it's unusable.

Does anyone have one and can give me some advice on getting it setup correctly?

When I was doing checking out plan/thick before buying one, Screwfix had this one on their site. They also had the manufacturers instructions as a link

I've a Kity myself: a 638.  The dressing dimensions are 310 x 230mm, or 12 x 9" for those still dwelling in the dark ages.

Whilst purchased new, it's spent the past 25 years on an open verandah, so it also has a fairly healthy encrustation of ferrous oxide.  It's still pretty good.  No snipe, and about 0.5mm uniformity of thickness across its width or
