Koa & Bamboo Side Table

A friend of mine dropped a piece of Koa at my front door that he brought back from Hawaii. I don't think there was any other choice other than to make a table and cut as little off as possible. I thought that Bamboo would compliment it nicely and thanks to my track saw and rotax it was a fairly easy build. Other than the warping Koa!

Beautiful job!  The top looks wonderful and the base is a really unique way to use the bamboo.

Nice piece of wood. I especially like the way you "mysteriously" elevated the Koa from the rest of the table. Nice job. I guess what really catches my eye is the way you asymmetrically presented the Koa.
