Had a little bit of time this morning waiting for some drywall mud to dry so I fired up the lath again to make a fitting to fit my new K5 Kreg and the new Ct36 I got a few weeks ago. I turned down a solid rod of 1 1/4 inch delrin a little bit to fit the Kreg. Then turned down the other end to fit nicely into the 27mm hose. Bored out the center to 3/4 of a inch. Always fun to make stuff like this.

Looks really good. Great idea. When I got mine I happened to have an old long shop vac hose I bought at some point and the one fitting just happened to work just like what you made up.

Now I know you didn't bring this up, and maybe there's another thread with this, but my only complaint with the K5, is the piece on the front where the DC hose hooks in. I personally think it's a little cheaply made compared to the rest of the fixture. I'm kinda waiting for the little tabs to break of shortly. Has anyone had this happen yet?

I upgraded mine as I guy from work is starting out in woodworking so I sold my old k2000 to him. I really like the new fast clamp. It has many more material thickness settings than the old one. I don't really like the bit depth gauge. I also did get the mirco set for it. I do like having that smaller pocket.  Need to get it mounted to a board yet.

That is awesome.  I just crank up my CT26 and the hose stays stuck to the K5!

I need to find someone with a lathe that can teach me how to do that for a few cases of beer.

Great idea and awesome execution. If I ever get a Kreg jig like that I'm gonna bribe you to make one for me!

[cool]

If you were closer to me I say bring the beer over now. I'm in the twin cites so your a bit far for that today.  It's not hard to do at all. Just time is needed like ever thing else. If you need one I might have some spare time after the holiday to spit one out for you.

Careful, a line might form by the next time you check this thread!  (I would like one  [wink]). I would think something like this would be perfect for a 3D printer!

Appreciate the offer.

I think my dad has an old 3 in one machine that my grandpa had.  I remember it vaguely from when I was around 12 or 14 or so.  I might have to go rummage through the back of his garage and shed and see if it is what I remember.

I think my grandpa used it to make delrin spacers for the front hubs on my 80cc shifter kart.  I remember him cussing alot about how people "just turn out junk and its not even right and anything that is bolt on really means bolt on then re-engineer and make right."  The hubs had no spacer between the bearings so when you tighted the hub bolt it would put pressure on the bearings and make them not spin freely.  And that was what was acceptable so he fixed it, he fixed tons of stuff like that

You could most likely sell these. This has all been a problem with no really good solution. The fein adapter works but it is not all that great.

I might just have to do that. If I make about 200 of them I might be able to pay for a kapex.

Can you tell me where you purchased keirin? I attempted to google it and could not even get a response

the material you are looking for is delrin.  a quick google search came up with eplastics.com

I just went to home depot and bought this for 10 bucks. It just popped right into my 27mm hose and the kreg adapter. Now, I'd suggest you get eccentric like me ("Can I help you with something sir?" "I don't think so, but thanks.") and bring the hose and adapter with you to double check, but I was pretty happy to find out that something so off the shelf worked.

When I click on your link it shows online order only, so no way to try it in the store. How did you manage to find one?

$10!!!!!  [eek]

I use the Fein adapter from Amazon with my Kreg K5 and CT Mini and it works great for only $5.99.  [big grin]
