Hi There,
I'm new on the site so forgive me if this as been covered many times before.
I'm having to buy second hand tools so my budget is low and I could afford thes tools if they work together.
Could anyone tell me if the CT22E or the CTL mini dust extractors are compatible to work with the KS120 mitre saw?
I've read on other forums that I need to make sure the total power wattage between both units can be covered when the saw is plugged into the extractor.
Also to watch out that I'm not using too many amps as the saws current is running directaly through the extractor unit and its plug?
Many thanks to any replays that may be able to help me with the answers.

Best regards,
Paul

Welcome to the Forum!

There are thousands and thousands of people all over the world using their Kapex 120 with Festool dust extractors.  I have certainly done it with my CT-22 and also my Midi for years. Perhaps not every day because sometimes I cut outside.

Please note that I am a contractor and Moderator and not an official Festool employee.

What ever job I'm on I always make sure my tools have the shortest path to the main power on the heaviest power cords I carry. I never thought about it too much until I was speaking with a Festool rep who claimed many tool issues are from poor or weak voltage...

I use the Kapex with this set-up:

1) KS is connected to an auto switch (Tool outlet) (http://www.leevalley.com/en/wood/page.aspx?p=63013&cat=1,42401,72660) - Note: I am using both cords in separate circuits for greater capacity (30 amps maximum).
2) A shop vac with Dust Deputy is connected to the auto switch (Vac outlet).

For best dust collection, use the large dia. hose (32mm?).

Edit: Given all the KS motor concerns shared, I would not feel comfortable using my KS with a CT in which one circuit powers both the KS and the CT.

Does the environment not deserve a dust free environment?  [wink]

Tell that to the farmers.
A Kapex cutting outside is like a single drop of rain in the oceans when compared to these machines.

Certainly not if it meant the non-existence of:  https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pig-Pen
