Labels falling off all my systainers

I haven't had anything break loose, but the systainers I bought to hold other hand tools I do with a little Brother. Had the labeler before, so I can't put it in the Festool Junkie pile, just Other Obsessive pile. I think I do remeber reading something about wire label mode. Wonder if I can find the manual......

I have 7 Festool products.  The labels are falling off 5 of the 7 systainers.  Does anyone else have this problem?  I live in AZ where it's bloody hot so I assume this is the issue.  Also, the print is falling off the nice labels McFeelys sent me...joe

My ratio is 50 %,  6 out of 12 is breaking off, so I guess it is a global issue.

It's funny this topic should come up.  Last week I noticed for the first time that one corner of one of the labels on one of my several Systaniers was curled up a little.  At the time I thought that was the biggest problem I've had with any of my Festools over the last four years...

The Brady is definitely the more "pro" of the two, IMHO. We have a Brady ID Pro wire labeler at work and it rocks.

There's nothing like printing directly onto heatshrink or "self laminating" wire labels. The self laminating labels have a smaller printing area, but the tail is long and clear so you wrap it around the printed area. If the one at HD can do those, get it for sure.

If you do wiring of any sort, that ID Pro is the bomb.

I've got extensive experience with both the Panduit LS6 (~$1000) and the Brady TLS2200 (~$800) self-laminating cable marking printers.  Both are impressive machines with individual quirks.  If you decide to buy a self-laminating printer, take a good look at the label selections available for them.  There are literally hundreds of options of ink, material, and sizes to consider.  One thing I've noticed is that once you put those labels on (even just barely), they're on for good.  You've got to cut them off with a sharp knife and you'll be years in removing the residue.  I wish that whatever adhesive is used on them was applied to the back of my systainer labels.

regarding nor being able to get stickers off... I'll tell you my trade secret. Of course if any else finds out, well my friends from Chicago will visit you, and it won't be pretty :o Try charcoal lighter fluid. It works great for construction adhesive, ink(sometimes) and a variety of of things. And while not a great story teller like Tinker... I was on a job and had my bottle of lighter fluid. The job super told me I had to take it out of the building. What a crock!!! Painters have all their nasty stinky flamable crap all over and I can't have my lighter fluid??? Well being the rebellious one that I am, I dug a plastic coke bottle out of the trash, peeled the label, filled it up and wrote Dr. Jack's magic mojo juice on it. All the sudden it was perfectly fine to have on the job site. One of the contractors goons was trying to peel the labels off the clear sheetrock corner protectors and was having a horrible time of it. After an hour of watching him struggle, I couldn't take it any more. I said , try this. He did and what previously took 20 minutes , he did in 2. He had a boat load of labels to remove, and asked me what it was. Naturally I couldn't tell him because I had work to do and didn't have time to hide body. Being the generous person that I am.... I went to the trash, found another empty coke bottle , filled it with lighter fluid and sold it to the schmuck for $5.

I know, I am plowing throught the several thousand posts on this site but have a query in relation to the labels. A lot of mine are coming off but I notice that printed on the label itslef on the left hand side is a small printed 6 digit number that i assume is the part number for the label. Maybe we could actually order them as a spare?

Good story, must of been a green painter though. Lighter fluid is Naptha, which used to be carried by all good painters. Also known as white gas and Coleman Camp Fuel. It's a lot more convenient to carry (for label removing purposes) in a lighter fluid can
