I guess it depends of what you consider low grade carbide, as with most metals there is a myriad choices. The trick is choosing the carbide for the given operation and material being worked.

As far as power goes the 230v units shown are all 50HZ while the 110V units are 50/60HZ this maybe a big part of the equation to keep the RPM the same.
