Large MFT table

Is it still possible to build a large table with the MFT/3 system?  Specifically, I am looking for the cheapest way to build a 3-panel table without having to buy three full MFTs and join them together.  This will be for a large shop table (i.e. I don't intend to move it).  Thoughts or suggestions?  Thanks!

That's possible (in theory). You'll need:

(1)MFT3 table
(2)MFT3 tops
(2)long rails. This is special order part. (Check with Festool rep.)
(1)MFT3 leg stabilizer.

If you don't intend to move it, you could simply buy 3 separate tops and a bunch of side profiles, and connect it all together with some home built legs and stabilisers.

I will be building the top into a large cart so the leg strength of the stock table should not be an issue.

Good news about the long rails.  Do they span 3 tops or 2 (using the short edges of the tops)?

Alex, this is exactly what I want to do.  I'll have to price the parts out to see what makes sense.

The side profile extrusions were available for the old MFTs (MFT-TP2000, order code 488555 for 2 pcs @2000mm long), however I don't think the extrusions for the MFT3 are available separately...

I would think they have to be, how else would you replace a side profile that you buggered up?

They are available as parts.  I just checked.

Peter,

I can find parts available on ekat as replacements (i.e. cut to length) but not as longer lengths. Can you confirm if you mean these replacementsections are available, or long lengths are available?

I located the replacement parts in the replacement part catalog.

It looks like the longer lengths are available in Europe as shown by that thread.  I guess that on this side of the pond we will have to wait or use replacements with connectors to make longer lengths.

So it is official that the longer rail lengths are NAINA for now?  Can a US dealer confirm?  Thanks!
