Larger CT Hose Garage Accessory

I would like to be able to purchase a larger hose garage, one that could hold about 30' of hose. Why does Festool not make a taller hose garage? Is there not much demand for it?

Seems like an easy additional accessory to add to the Festool product page.

I did find this thread from 08 http://festoolownersgroup.com/festool-jigs-tool-enhancements/ct-hose-garage-extension-idea!/ So I know at least one other person has thought about it. The last post was to double stack the garage but a larger would be better imo.

Why not just use a systainer? Personally, I'm not very enamoured with the hose garage I bought for my 27mm hose, so if I wanted to store a bigger or longer hose, I'd prefer to use a systainer anyway.

I cut the bottom out of a sys 1 for my mini, I have the 27mm hose with the plugit cord in a cable wrap, it was impossible to get it in there without kinking the hose, going to do the same with the 22.

I can barely stuff 30 feet of 1 1/2" hose in a Systainer 5. I do also have 3 tubes & floor nozzle in the bottom.
It would take a huge hose garage to hold that much hose.
The hose garage holds one 27mm 3.5m rather well but I would like to add a 27mm 5m hose to it which is a little less than 30' and not have to disconnect hoses but just wrap them up at the end of the day.

I suppose a double garage that would house 2, 27mm 3.5 hoses would be good enough for my purposes.

I suppose that is a good alternative but ideally I would prefer not to disconnect the hose. Maybe that is me wanting to much. Of course I am not always needing to use that much hose but I prefer to have enough hose so the CT is not underfoot when working higher off the ground.

That is an interesting idea but I still think a double sized garage would be ideal. A cable wrap is something I should use. Right now I just keep a cord on top of the hose and systainers on top when packing it up.

EDIT: missing words

When you talk about a hose garage, do you mean for the CT 22? That's the only vac that has a separate hose garage. It is also discontinued, so no matter how much you wish for it, Festool is never going to design new accessories for a discontinued model.

If you want a real solution to your wish, you'll be going to have to compromise with one of the ideas listed above.

Pretty sure there's close to zero interest in it.

I am actually talking about a 26.

I think you are right about the lack of interest. I will have to work on a mod to meet my needs, either that or just accept the fact that longer hoses need to be broke down.

Allright, if it's for the CT26 then it has the problem that the hose garage is an integral part of the vac and not an accessory. Which would require Festool to design a new spare part, which is not going to happen. They won't even honour something like the massive request for a tiny Robertson bit, so this has no chance whatsoever.

You could take the current hose garage off the vac and and make your own hose garage out of wood or whatever material you'd prefer. Paint it black and you'll hardly notice it's not original.

Thanks Alex. I like this idea [thumbs up]. I think I may be able to add a spacer piece to extend the height allowing me to add additional hose length.
