LAST CALL for First Aid Systainer Orders and Payment

Hah! I got a shipment notice and couldn't figure out what it was for (I just sent in an impact driver to Festool for repairs a few days ago and thought that was too fast for a return!) then I see this thread.  Woo-hoo! Thanks again WOW, and hope to never need any of the major supplies.

WOW,

You've cemented your place in FOG history.  We can never thank you enough for the gift of your time and other resources on this project.  And who knows?  While we hope no one ever needs to use the most serious items, someone might one day owe his health or even life to one of these kits.  But regardless, we'll all have much greater peace of mind.

I think you skipped me in that last batch. :(

You are correct, sir.

I have your First Aid Systainer all ready and waiting here, but I have no shipping information for you that I could locate. I sent you a PM about it earlier today yesterday?

Regardless, thanks for posting. Please just PM me your shipping info and your First Aid Systainer will go out on Monday. Heck, I might even drop it off this weekend since FedEx is open both days.

Thank YOU for trusting me, and for acknowledging my efforts. It has been a pleasure getting to know so many folks here, and many of you have reached out to me in private with offers to help. Some FOGgers have sent me stickers and other small Festool items I have been looking for. "Festool Fanatic Frank" - aka our own SittingElf - helped me get some NAINA stuff. Nobody had to do those things either...but they did! And I can't tell you how much I appreciate it!

I have tried to volunteer a portion of my time all of my life, to give back to the community/communities that gave so much opportunity to me. I most recently was volunteering up to 20 hours a week to the Red Cross as an EMT, but I am unable to continue to do that. I have been looking for something that was both meaningful and fun to do. I think I found - or created - that project?!

[big grin]

Again, YOU and everyone else who trusted me with their hard-earned money are what made this happen. I just facilitated it. Well, maybe I did a little more than that - but you get the idea.

[wink]

And as far as me having "cemented my place in FOG history." - well, that's such a cool thought I don't know what to say. I guess I'll go with the obvious:

THANK YOU!

I seem to remember that somewhere you had a few things that you would add to the kit, I don't know if I am crazy or not however Would you add anything to the kit?

I sent you a PM with my shipping info just now.  I didn't receive a pm.

Thank you.

I received it and we're good. Your First Aid Systainer will be in the capable hands of FedEx no later than Monday.

edit: When I re-read my posts it looks like I might have appeared a bit callus or uncaring about not shipping Andrew's First Aid Systainer. That is the furthest thing from the truth. What happened was as follows:

• I was really REALLY tight on time to get these shipped yesterday, and I was NOT going to miss my own deadline. When I discovered that I didn't have shipping info for him, I simply set his First Aid Systainer aside and kept working down the list.

• I have my spreadsheet marked that I had Andrew's address - but it wasn't there when it came time to ship. I assume I somehow lost it along the way, which certainly isn't Andrew's fault.

• I contacted him right away via PM and he responded within hours.

It may seem like a lot of time passed or that Andrew was somehow slighted, but neither are true. I reached out to him promptly once I discovered my error, and he responded promptly. The only downside to this little hiccup is that his First Aid Systainer wasn't in FedEx' hands yesterday ... but it will be by Monday, in plenty of time to be included with their next batch of shipments.

Worst case - the First Aid Systainer arrives one day later. And BTW Andrew, you are not allowed to use sharp objects or power tools until it arrives - OK?

[big grin]

I also tossed a couple of small extra's into your shipment. Nothing large or worth much - sorry - but it's a token to apologize for me not totally having my act together.

No worries Wayne, you had a lot on your plate.  I was more concerned that you may not received my bank check / or there was a problem with it and I may be missing out...I was relieved to see your PM stating you had my First Aid Systainer.

Wow

There was another addition to the last batch that shipped, so

FEATURE CREEP ALERT...

I made an addition to all of the First Aid Systainers that shipped yesterday. It's useful, but small and inexpensive. It's cleverly hiding inside the Med Box. First person to identify it and post a picture wins - hmmm - recognition, I guess. I've got nothing much to give?

If yours was among the first 14 kits that shipped LAST week - 15 counting 3PedalMINI's one-of-a-kind uber-special NAINA one - I am still trying to figure out how to put this or a similar item in your hands. I may just drop it into a first-class envelope for you, but I'm also waiting to make sure I'm 'done' before I do that.

Is that enough of a tease for now? I think so...

You did indeed see that, but I am not qualified to determine whether or not you are crazy?!

I just got my kit! FedEx was super early This is great! Thanks again for all the hard work. I think it is the tourniquet in the med stainer. I don't know how to use 1/2 of this stuff! but its there!

Ding Ding Ding Ding Ding! We have a winner!

Yes, I added a small rubber tourniquet to the 'Med Box'. It lives right in the front, with the razor blades and one pair of nitrile gloves.

In approximately a decade of being an EMT I've never used one, but that doesn't mean that you won't. They weren't expensive and they were small enough to sneak one into the kit, so there it is!

Hmm...From MN to Throwback in 2 business days sounds about right. The rest of you can keep an eye out for yours, since they're getting closer all the time.

[thumbs up]

The walk to the kitchen from the deck where I was enjoying my morning coffee/ breakfast. I added a Large nail clipper and a small one, the sharpie and a large green cross sticker to the back so every side a cross can be seen
