This guy called me to modify the upper part of his tv cabinet.. he had bought a big screen cabinet and had it attached to the actual cabinet doors !!! they were pull open doors that then recessed back into the sides of the cab for the old style of big hunching tvs.. so he just screwed the bracket to the outside of the doors and hung it there.
then he called me to remove tv and upper cabinet and redo it as shown in picture. while i was there, being the sharp eye that I am and business man... I recommended putting an oak top, stained and also add oak tops to the 2 other built ins top.... he loved the idea.
the oak tops were sheet ply with a 1x3 oak on the face. I used my fein multi master to trim up the casing so the oak would slip under it and fit in better... it only took about 1 hour to do the 2 tops, plus a quick rub of stain and poly done deal changed the whole look of the cabinets and room
you can see the before and afters. only took 2 days from start to finish and finish was last night at 7 but got it done for his company coming today
