Latest completed commission

Very nice. I am never keen on panels routed into mdf though, think mouldings pinned on to form panels look better but don't know what you were matching up with. I must get myself set up for spraying, my stuff always gets done by a decorator after and I am normally disappointed in the result.

Hi Doug.
Thanks.
I know what you mean about the mouldings on surface compared to routed within. I prefer the mouldings when there is a raised panel but it's also a nice effect when the bead being routed in has more than a single profile. On this project the bedroom door is on the same wall but a fair distance away. When at sampling stage the client chose this hint or "salute" to the existing door style but not a copy.
Regarding spraying, I only recently started to finish ours with a gun. Previously we had brush applied or used a subcontractor but was never happy with finish or painting the piece dis-assembled.
I bought the earlex hv5500 as a try out. It was less than £200 and has been a delight to use.
We use water based readily available paints but check their viscosity for spraying. Very easy to use and get great results.
The time saved in the first piece paid for the kit.
Good luck.

Thanks for the advice on the sprayer Scott, never done any spraying so didn't know where to start but after a bit of quick research the model you have sounds perfect for me.

Thanks, Doug
