Sometime in my late 30's early 40's I was diagnosed with Adult ADD, which explained a lot. Things like needing 2.5 years of Algebra 1 even though I am mathematically inclined, and having no less than a dozen partly completed projects sitting around at any given time... (Hey, look, something shiny!!...)
Anyway instead of finishing the shop or my MFT/SYS cart it was decided that I needed a leather sheath for the Japanese chopping ax thingie I gifted myself with before Christmas. This meant I needed a Dremel, had to make a burnisher attachment, find some copper rivets, and so on.
In the end it cost me about a week of evenings, including:

Making a paper pattern

Cutting the leather

Figured a little Neatsfoot oil on the inside would not hurt anything, then discovered it soaks clear thru 8 ounce leather within minutes

Decided to use Neatsfoot oil on the outside...

Glued layers with Pliobond

Burnished edges

Fastened with rivets

Stitched
Won't win any ribbons but may get me the merit badge. Now it goes in the truck with my hiking gear, as on my list of future distractions is making a couple walking sticks for which I will have to harvest some branches on my next hike.
Lots of fun, now on to the then next new project.
