I've just acquired a TS55 Plunge Saw,I'm only a hobbyist, but,I remember seeing a article on this Forum, some time back,on a Floor Laying Project, using the Festool Plunge Saw,His work was beautiful,a fair bit of geometry layout involved,as,there was diagonal borders cut ,and, layed, with different coloured hard woods etc,Would anyone on this Forum, have any links,as to how to layout such a project,my own rooms ,will be my experiment area,I would like to give it a try,but i want to do as much research as possible, before I give it a go,so,all help appreciated.

I know exactly the video your talking about. That was very unique. I myself am a flooring installer and refinisher.  I use my track saw often for subfloors, borders, and herringbone layouts.  So yes the track saw is a Great tool for flooring guys.

I use my track saw for hardwood floors too, as it does many things, but my main cutting instrument will always be a miter saw.

I recommend "Wood Flooring" by Peterson.  It's a hardcover so a bit more expensive...maybe $35ish on Amazon.  It won't help with the "rookie" aspects of laying a floor but I think there's valuable information there, especially if you are aiming to do more ornate work for your first time.

I install the occasional floor and think as a hobbiest/diy you'll like the convience of working inside and control the dust, but if you're using a MFT you might find it annoying for crosscuts.
I recently did a floor without a table saw for the first time and used the tracksaw instead and found it much nicer to do my rips. A mitre saw was still the tool of the day.
