Lead paint dust

On the Metabo vac -
Is the hose same size connections as the Festool?
Is the hose the 27mm small Festool size or the mid size?
I don’t see anyone in the US selling filters or bags - just a quick search.
Not seeing much info on this vac in the US. No dimensional info or accessories. Claim 9 gallon capacity so sounds much larger than a Midi.
I contacted the seller Ohio Power Tool who said that Metabo honors their 3 yr warranty. Metabo rep assured me that the filter bags can be bought online [https://www.tools-plus.com/metabo-630343000.html] and at local tool suppliers (but not the big box stores).

[member=69740]JohnPgh[/member] - reread my comment above - I've been adding to it.

Just came across this 35mm tool-end fitting:
https://www.woodcraft.com/products/...MI8oms6rmJ4AIVEp-fCh1GkAnJEAQYASABEgIGh_D_BwE

It doesn't appear to be a Nilfisk product (likely Chinese knockoff) but it would be an easy go-to fitting for anyone needing a 27mm tool-end fitting on their 35mm (or 36mm) hose.

The Nilfisk version - in all of its rebranded glory (as produced for Starmix, Bosch, Mafell, CS Unitec, Hitachi, Metabo, etc.) - is out there it just takes some searching to find (at least here in the U.S.). For instance, Bosch will tell you it's not available as a spare part (and will advise buying a new hose!) but it most certainly is, just not from them. Branding is everything and the murky world of "re-branding" (or "licensing" - call it what you will) doesn't make it easy for us consumers. But the obfuscation annoys me just enough that I spend probably more time then I should exposing the seamy underbelly. ;)

While I am genuinely impressed with the quality of Festool vacs, I ordered the not-so-shabby Metabo as it was $200 less. Thanks for all the information and advice.

The current generation of Bosch extractors are not Starmix but the associated hoses may or may not be compatible (i have no experience with the current generation of Bosch vacs and the various fittings that are associated with them).
The basic L-class Bosch, the GAS25L (in Europe) , is still available - and that's a Starmix. I've found both a Triton and a Makita rubber hose end which fits the Metabo/Starmix hose as well (that's the bit I tend to clobber)

Both my Metabos work with the Festools I have (see strap line below) - not a huge selection, I admit

Yes, I've come across them while perusing some of your well known (and not so well known) online retailers. We actually have a small selection of rebranded versions of the Starmix "ISC-Compact" line of extractors available over here too (someone might even be able to locate a Bosch-version). Pullman-Ermator still sells both the smaller 25ltr (7 gal) and the larger (than the 9-gal i-Pulse too) 50ltr (14 gal) versions, as do some others (like CS Unitec). Every once in a while I come across these and other rebranded versions online. I've never seen one in person, however. I actually considered the 7-gal model before ultimately deciding on my i-Pulse (the latter of which was, at the time, the lowest priced rebranded Starmix model I could find).
