and I have hurd other names and I was like what you on about so seems like people just call it what ever they feel like here in the UK

Here (states) rockwool is also known as slag wool, mineral wool and my favorite......rotten cotton   

and add a +1 for me on this as insulating is one of the last things I want to do.  Especially in the summer.    A very close runner up would be rocking ceilings and digging post holes by hand.

Drywall, hanging it, taping it, sanding it, fixing it, and finally painting it.  My goal in life is to invent a cost effective replacement for drywall so I never have to deal with it again.  Of course being cheap, uh I mean fiscally responsible, I am loath to contract drywall out, so I always end up doing the work myself.

This one time I had to grind down a concrete floor because the last contractor decided to use 1.5" of thin set under porcelain tile.  Not only was it a pain to get the tile up (sharp knife like pieces everywhere) I then had to grind down the floor level because I was laying an engineered hardwood onto the slab.

Last but defiantly not least....I have recently been working on a full basement suite.  In the beginning when we were doing the demo there was rat and mouse droppings everywere along with there little carcasses.  Being all masked up and removing moulding fecal matter was not too much fun especially when you are sweating and the dust particles stick to you...YUCK [eek]

Our septic system backed up with solids last week. The pumpers didn't put everything back together and I had to clean up what leaked out when the clean out cap was pulled.

(and they ripped me off with price and overpriced "enzymes" as well - I got caught unprepared).

I really hate dealing with that kind of cr*p.....

Quoting - it wastes too much time if I don't get the job. I always struggle to quote accurately as I rarely do the same thing twice. I just quoted to make a small pine bookcase. Client was happy, but they have now changed the design twice and I've pretty well eaten up everything I quoted in doing new designs in sketchup.

Im glad I rarely get price jobs I normally just have to give an estimate so the client knows round about how much its going to cost but then its on a day rate so doesn't affect me  but  I gotta agree that is annoying when that happens!
