Very quick question...

Any harm in leaving my Festool battery charger plugged in? Not a question about leaving batteries on the charger. I'm talking about leaving the charger plugged in empty. Is it bad for the charger?

I just hung my charger on a pegboard, and the way my workbench and outlets are, it's much easier to leave it plugged in. Not planning to store batteries on it - just leave it plugged in. Any issues?

Thanks.

If you live in an area with a lot of lightning or power surges and you use a surge protector on you electronics, then unplug it. Even a switched outlet will not disconnect all wiring, either the ground or common will remain connected and any large static charge down the line could cause damage to the electronics.

I have had various chargers including Makita, Ryobi, and Festool plugged in continuously over the past 30+ years and never had a charger fail. They are always plugged into a power strip.
