Lee Valley now carrying Tanos Systainers

Nope they are grey, different color.

Not that batch I just bought.
The colour appears identical...but cleaner LoL.
They have dark blue clasps instead of green.
The handle is better, hollow and rounded instead of square and ribbed.
Instead of saying FESTOOL embosses on the lid they say TANOS; and after that the text on "systainer" is ever so slightly smaller.

The guy at Lee Valley said I was the first in Ottawa to buy some, I showed them how they snap together.  The lady at the cash was interested and commented on how she has never seen them, so I showed her and she though it was brillant.  She then rang it up and saw the total and her eyes nearly popped out of he head and she said "Oh wow!".  I responded "Yeah, I know, shread the receipt!"

I'm in love...although I must admit why would I ever spend 20% more on the Festool branded boxes and sacrifice the lifetime guarantee?  Almost seems like a no-brainer.

I saw that and it makes me wonder,  does Tanos offer that on all thier systainers regardless of who they are branded for?

Can anybody confirm if the Tanos are the same off white grey colour as  Festool ??
Happy New Year to you all

Nope they are grey, different color.

Tanos offers their systainers in 2 basic colours, anthracite (Ral 7016) and light grey (Ral 7035). The light grey is the same colour as the Festools. The latches are a dark blue, but for an extra price of about 5 euros you can select another colour including the Festool green, or what seems to be a very close approximation.

I picked up one of the Mini Systainers tonight.  When I got it home, I realized that I actually got 2.  Maybe that is how they are sold...or did I just get a freebie?

I like the actual container, but the plastic insert feels cheap to me.  I guess if it is just staying in the systainer, then it should be fine, but I was expecting it to be a harder plastic.

I bought a mini yesterday and I didn't get 2.  [sad] [sad]

I'm not impressed with the mini....I got sucked in by how cute it looked.

That being said I find the black plastic inserts are cheap and flimsy (but not cheap).

Does anyone know if Lee Valley will offer the Sortainer which has two large (full width of the Sortainer) lower drawers and a top row with two small drawers and one mid-sized drawer?  When I quickly looked at the Lee Valley offerings, I didn't see this 5 drawer unit.  These seem to me an excellent solution for storage of a drill or jigsaw and many acessories.

Dave, I don't know if Lee Valley has them but MySystainer.com does.

I am fairly certain that Lee Valley does not carry this configuration.

It is shocking to see what folks are willing to pay for blow-molded plastic these days.  I'm starting to think I'm in the wrong biz....
