I admit that I don't buy much stuff from Lee Valley but every time I have it has been a great experience.

Today my brother called me to ask for my help.  I had given his friend a gift card two years ago and she was finally ready to order something. (obviously she isn't a woodworker  [big grin])  Somehow the email gift card was now missing.

Most retailers have a policy that says if lost too bad.

A phone call and a great conversation with Sue and all is well.  Sue, by the way knows what FOG means and loves her CXS.  She claims that if it came in a softer container she would put it under her pillow.

[member=4165]Rob Lee[/member] , I thought you and everyone should know about a great experience.

Peter -

Thanks for the kind comments - I'll ensure they get back to the service team, and Sue in particular.

I agree about the CXS too.... I have two myself, and have gifted two more to relatives. Mine aren't going under the pillow though...

Cheers -

Rob

Lee Valley is one of my favorite and reliable suppliers and has been for many years.  My wife is disappointed to learn that they now sell Festool and have a distribution center so close to us for quick delivery.8)

It's service like the OP posted about that gives them such an edge. [attachimg=1]

Funny... [thumbs up]

Of the places I buy stuff from Lee Valley is number one.
Apple is number two, closely followed bu Amazon.
LV wins because of their more generous return policy.

McMaster-Carr belongs in this group too. Hard to say where but LV stays at the top.

Lee Valley is one of those companies that has great ethics, outstanding service and innovative, quality products. 'Glad you had a great experience!

IMHO Lee Valley is the BEST, the only down side is that the store is at 5 minutes from work  [eek]

Your downside would have been my upside...I could be 50 mins. away from my local LV store in bad winter driving conditions.
