Anyone seen or used these Leigh clamps?  Just wondering if they'd fit in our MFTs.  Looks like you just drop them in without having to screw from the underside.  EDIT:  Nope, looks like you need to screw underneath afterall.  But I like the cam flip-downs for repeat clamping

Yes they will work with the MFT.
As you stated, you do have to screw on a nut from below.

Did  you look at the surface clamps on the bottom of the page.
The attach to the workbench with an insert or T track that is fit into the top.

I wrote an email earlier this year to complain about the price of those clamps. Iv'e been a faithful to them for many years and own a lot of their jigs/accessories, but that put me over the edge.

Yow!  I guess I was thinking they were $50/ pair, not a piece.  That is expensive.

Exactly what I wrote to them, here was the response:
Dear Mr. Herold,

Thank you for being such a loyal customer and we do appreciate your comments regarding the price of the hold down clamps. Before we introduced the clamps to the market place we researched the available clamps and there relative costs. As we are sure you have evidenced through the use of our products, our foremost targets are quality and functionality. Unfortunately it is a near impossibility to get inexpensive in to that mix. However, you will see by the links below, our clamps are a lot less expensive than the competitions.

Here?s a quote from a customer regarding the Festool table. "The clamps are much more substantial than they appear in the website pictures. Maybe you can't say this, but I can?they are absolutely perfect for my Festool Multi-function Table. Thanks for another great product."

Thank you again for your comments and if you have any further comments or questions, please do not hesitate in letting us know.

Yours truly,

Jan Heath

I just bought some of these little devices - https://www.adjustableclamp.com/replacementparts/products3.asp?subcatID=83.  Just over $20 for a set of two.  They seem to work well with my MFT as well as my Workmates.  The shanks are threaded, but the nut has a speed-on/off function so turning the nut is a last effort thing.  They're not the sturdiest I've ever seen, but for $20+, they're "sacrificial elements".

Lee Valley has the same clamps for $16.40, not a huge savings but every little bit helps.

I've used those same plastic ones quite a lot with no problems -- they hold very well.
