Any blades for the TS75 coming?
Hello, Thanks for checking on the TS-75. We are planning to launch these this year. I would estimate around the middle of the 2nd quarter. Thanks Iain

Hi all

Have someone already used the melamine saw blade - PSL-16048ABM2  160mm  48  20mm  ATAFR  .087?  Melamine  $70.00.

Any feedback?

Can the saw blades be ordered online? Where?

Thanks in advance

A.G.

Actually the question that I should ask first is which of the saw blades is best for melamine?

Where can we get more info about the possible applications for each blade?

Thanks in advance

A.G.
Hello

Thanks for the questions. Here are some answers:

Online ordering here:
Prosawblades.com

A couple of testimonials here:
Buytenryu.com

"Which of the saw blades is best for melamine?" The PSL-16048ABM2 is designed to perform the best in Melamine, it has a special carbide tip designed to resist the abrasive natural of melamine. In addition the blades tooth grind is ATAFR which is a shear face. This produces a cleaner cut with less heat and load, therefore extending the life of the blade. More information on tooth grind can be found here: TENRYU Tooth Grind

Thanks again, please let me know if you have any further questions or concerns.

Iain,

Could you list the blade model #'s and their corisponding applications?  When viewing the available blades for the TS55 on Prosawblades site there is no real description of what your getting that I can understand besides tooth count.  I also looked at Tenryu's site but could not find this info there either.  Thanks in advance and thanks for giving us more options!

So which of these blades are the best for hardwood plywood? Combi, crosscut, melamine, or finish?  Also, which of these will stay sharp longer used on hardwood plywood?  Does the recommendation change for prefinished plywood?
Thank you for the questions, I would recommend the PSW-16048AB2 (Combi) for the best all round performance in your material. If you are using thinner or more delicate prefinished plywood the PSW-16052CB2T (Super thin kerf) with thin riving knife would also be an option.

Thanks again
Iain

Ian,

You wrote: "If you are using thinner or more delicate prefinished plywood the PSW-16052CB2T (Super thin kerf) with thin riving knife would also be an option."  Does that saw blade come packaged with the needed thin riving knife?  If not, I suggest that Tenyru add it to their product line and annotate their catalog so a purchaser of that blade doesn't get frustrated when they realized cannot use their new blade with the original riving knife, or worse -- then start cutting without any riving knife.

Thanks, Jerome.  Have you tried it yet?  Please comment and post a photo of the cut edge quality if you can.

Hello, Just a quick note to let you know that I will be at the JLC live show (March 20/21) in Providence, RI. The TS-55 blades will be available during the show for purchase through a TENRYU distributor (Show price special). In addition I will have information to hand out on the new TS-75 blades.

Thanks

Iain

Just checking in to see whether information/pricing for Tenryu TS75 blades is available, yet.

Thank you.

Hello Brian,

I am sorry to inform you that we have had some issues with the Tenryu PSW-16052CB2T fitting the Festool TS-55 plunge saw correctly.  Until these issues are resolved they will not be available for shipment.

We have cancelled your order.  I apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you.

From the folks at prosawblades.com - any idea what this issue is, and when it will be resolved?

I'm a trim carpenter and specialize in custom trim work and cabinetry in the tri-satate area.  I usually do most cabinetry paint grade, but i do get quite a bit of stain quality projects which mainly consist of mohagany stock, my paint grade projects are usually done with poplar or maple depending if the people want to spend.
i got the ts55 and i only use the saw to cut sheet goods and the blade of choice so far is the standard 48 tooth blade that came with the saw, after owning the saw for 2 years i'm on my 3rd blade.  I think the blades are very good but i never used any other blade for comparison.
Now i just recently upgraded all my miter saws with TENRYU SILENCER blades for my 12" saws i got the 100t and for my 8 1/2" i got the 60t silencer and in all honesty these are by far the best blades i have ever used.  i'd like to say is that i was amazed by the ability of the tenryu blade to keep the cut perfectly square when i was going thru a 5/4"x12 solid mohagany on a 45 degree cut, it's grinding ability left the cut very smooth with no visible blade marks and the long edge of the cut razor sharp.  Just amazing blades, as compared to previously used Freud, CMT, Dewalt blades.  If Tenryu covers all the blades that i use, i will most certainly get them.
i do pay for all my tools and blades so my feedback is from a user/ customers point of view.
i'm looking into obtaining a new dado setup and a new 10" table saw blade if i could get a recommendation that would be great, i usually use one blade for all tasks, but no rough materials go through the saw (just plywood, mohagany, oak, poplar)
As a compliment to TENRYU i would like to say that what ever you are doing, keep doing it because it's working.
thank you

I'm very happy with my Tenyru 160 mm rip blades I purchased for use with my TS 55.  I have not used them a great amount yet, but they are working well at ripping ~7/8 inch thick KD red oak and 5/4 poplar.  Pretty much a glue line ready cut.  Out of laziness, I even used one to do some cross cutting of that oak stock, the results were more than satisfactory, but not quite up to the results obtained when using a proper cross cut (ATB) blade such as Festool's 28T or 48T blades.

I recently checked the lateral runout of a 10" Tenyru Gold Medal [? 40 T ?] combination blade that has been mounted on my General International 2 HP hybrid saw (Taiwan made) for more than a year and used to rip and cross cut various hardwoods (mostly oak and poplar, some mahogany and lots of birch plywood), using a Hartville Tool precision setup fixture with dial gauge.  The total lateral runout was less than two thousandths of an inch (about 1.5 thousandths).  Needless to say, I am impressed with the quality of this and my other Tenyru blades.  I think they represent very good value at their retail price level.  My only wish is that Tenyru USA would offer a high quality resharpening service, similar to that offered by Forrest.

Anyone know the best way to get a hold of anyone from Tenryu?  Email and messages here don't seem too successful...
