Leveling Festool UG Miter Station or any other on-site station

Recently, I tossed my old Stanley large levels because I noticed that they were both slightly bowed. The last time that I used my Kapex station, I used my laser level, but this was more time consuming than I really want to spend.   I realize that the longer the level, the better, for setting up the station. I was wondering, what do people find is the shortest level that they can use to set up their UG miter station, in order to get accuracy? Or, in other words, what level do you prefer to use to set up your miter saw station when you're on-site? Thanks.

level? with the continuous wing stations one just needs a straight edge. Any level long enough will do. Laser ?

I could care less if the Kapex, UG and wings are level. I want them on plane with each other. Level does not matter. I also set the wings slightly back from the Kapex fence, helps if  you have bowed material.

Clamp a string pulled tight to the end of the wings and adjust the legs until the unit is on plane.

Yes, of course, planer. Just thought that since most have their level with them on-site, that they had a favorite to use. Tom, I like the string/clamp method. It brought back a memory of my dad using that, fifty-something years ago.

Good one! Thanks, again for the reply, Tom. Not only will I now keep string in my toolbox, but you brought back some nice forgotten memories.

Chalk lines have string in them. No need to carry an additional item. Please don't tell me you don't carry chalk line at all times.

I used a  chaulk line along with lasers to install a recent doubleloft bed off-site.  In my home shop, I have to set up and break down the kapex station each time I use it.  So, next time I use it, I'll cut a dedicated string for setting up the station. No need to be dealing with chaulk. Thanks, Tom.

If you set u[p the Kapex in the same location each time, figure out an indexing system. That way you can set it up accurately and quickly each time. Could be as simple as reference makes on the wall, indicator marks on the lags and brackets, spacers for the UG stand leveler side.

You need to learn to be lazy----your putting to much work into setting up.
