Life Changes

Charlie Mac,  Just the fact you are anticipating what will come up and investigating the expected problems shows you are already becoming a good salesman.  Not in a BS way, but in a way to be helpful to prospective customers/buyers. You are making progress already.

Thanks so much for the great ideas. The greenhouse growing season is approaching full speed so research time is becoming hard to find. Fire Dept dinner last night, son's birthday dinner tonight but am hoping for some CMS studying in the late hours.
I can't overstate my appreciation for the thoughts and guidance.

I sold a few thousand dollars worth of Festools for a dealer in Henderson when I sat in on the Conturo demo Steve was giving the Friday after the class. I was at a local lumber yard ordering windows, they're a new Festool dealer, helped their guy demonstrate and sell few items also.

You got the easiest job I know of. Festools pretty much sell themselves . All they needed is. Someone knowledgable in the basics.

IMO you'll run into a few characters, ones that are interested in them, ones that don't. Know anything about them but are skeptical about them and come with Preconceived ideas about them and don't understand their capabilities and really don't want to, the most common character , the one who has heard about them and are wondering what the fuss is all about.

Good luck on the demo. Let us know how it went.

Hi Guys,
Just an update, The Demo Day went well. It's occurred to me that I signed some document regarding social media when I was hired. I admit I didn't read it thoroughly, I just assumed it meant "don't embarrass the company on social media". While I would never intentionally do that I think I'd better revisit that policy before I post any more details.
I apologize for the anti-climatic ending but I will say I had a lot of fun and learned a lot from the guys demoing other products. They were all pros and generous in sharing their knowledge of the task at hand. Also, it was oddly satisfying to have to clean up after some of the other displays at the end of the day!

Best regards,
Charlie

Glad it went well Charlie. I have been contemplating a career change these days and being a people person... Your "chase" seems like a great choice.

I run a lot of things at my company and stepping back and smelling the roses may be soon in my future.

How did the CMS demo go?

Cheers. Bryan

I know from personal experience that's a big step Brian and it seems to go against everything ingrained in us.

Regarding the CMS, turns out we had a display, NOT a demo.
