Lift or dumb waiter

I have a client who wants a lift or dumb waiter in his holiday house in Brittany, France, from ground up to second floor. Anyone on here got any ideas. All I can seem to find are ugly stainless things for restaurants. I think he'd like me to come up with something a bit more special. Get your thinking caps on everyone!

Where is it going in the building?
What is the total span of travel? (in Europe you have a ground, then a first, and then a second floor - most times)
What is the maximum load this needs to carry?

I built one a little over 30 years ago.  Had to line the cavity with double layer of sheet rock and cover with metal due to fire regulations.  Commercial dumb waiter lifts were hard to find and rather pricey, so we used a standard hoist with upper and lower limits.  It worked okay, but wasn't pretty.

Those are all good questions, to which I don,t have all the answers yet. The site is a 3 hour drive away so I was hoping to get a few ideas before visiting. I am waiting for plans. I think it is going by a central staircase. It will be ground, first and second. There is a loft where I hope to be able to put the mechanism. The load will just be crockery, glasses and bottles (plenty of the latter knowing the client).

I would not lift it.. I would let the dumb waiter do it....  but if he is too dumb you might have to explain it to them.....

Well I pretty underwhelmed by the lack of ideas. It will need controls upstairs and downstais and I was wonering whether wireless remote would e easier. Would still like some suggestions.

its an unusual request.
i would look into some kind of track, and motorised pully and wintch.
