After a long time not having posted, here we go.
@GhostFist; we are not planing on re-boarding at all but wainscoting along the walls is what we have in mind.
@batmanrobin; no Blåkläder, no Björnkläder but Snickers!
In the first few weeks, after stripping practically everything, we took out 4,5 thousand Kg of… stuff. On the walls there were about 12 layers of wallpaper on boards who then again were nailed to the logs. The floors were not much different. Linoleum on board sheets, some of it "leveled" with plaster on top of the actual floorboards. Under the floorboards was about 20 cm of wood dust that was sucked by a truck over a couple of days. You'll see a photo of it below where they vacuum in what was the kitchen area. The logs under the floor there were rotten, which we knew beforehand. We've replaced all.
Demolition is almost over.. except for the roofed veranda not really shown in the photos. It will be completely rebuild, more on that later.
The floor structures on the ground and first floor have been removed and rebuild throughout the house. You can also see that we have preserved the wood stove that will be placed, along modern conveniences, in the kitchen again. New wall structures at the ground floor are build, they make up a toilet and a laundry room divided from a back room (living room continuation)
Part of the old roof structure has been removed and new beams to carry the weight are in place. The old staircase is removed too, it looked good at first hand but after breaking it open my heart skipped a beat. Soon new A structures to hold the roof will be placed. The roof will be insulated and will therefore will be lifted by 60 cm.
All comments welcome!
Thanks for watching.
