Long all-in-one hose & cord?

Does Festool make an extra-long vac hose with a built-in plug-it cord?  I need something that's like 20 or 30 feet long for when I'm sanding up high on a ladder.  Using the CT22 vac with misc. Festool sanders.  Thanks.

They make a combination hose/cord that is sold overseas but it didn't pass UL approval. Don't know what the longest one is. You can search Festool-UK. There was a post a while ago about a mesh product that fit over the hose and held an electric cord inside. Here's the link.

just buy the hose and cords and strap them together with slip ties. and wrap with a small peice of duct tape  if they tend to slip, but shouldn't

I suppose I can see why this wouldn't pass UL muster.  If a piece of sharp debris got sucked into the hose perhaps there's a "chance" that it could nick the power cord and cause a fire.

Does anybody know if the cord is actually exposed to dust and debris inside the hose?

I talked to a painter about festool stuff last year, he was complaining that he paid a lot of money for a very long AS hose, and that it didn't work as planned. I didn't go into that much, was preoccupied with the kapex I was getting the next day, just saying that it might not work (long hose). Altough I would guess sanders don't need that much suction, that was also the only intended use he had for it.  (He said it was an 8m hose, but I was checking the site, and could only find 7m long hoses, and couldn't see them in the 27mm variety,maybe they're discontinued). I think it would also be pretty uncomfortable, (weightwise)  holding up that much hose whith the end of the tool you're using on top of a ladder.

BTW, I was looking for a thread to link which contained a picture of Frank Pellow (at least I thought it was him) working on a ladder, with an extra folding ladder beside it with his CT on top but couldn't find it.

As well as coming in fixed lengths, hoses are also available by the metre, so he could have ordered an 8m length of hose and then added some connectors. For example, the part number for 27mm Anti Static hose is 452384 and is described as "Suction hose D 27 antistatic D 27 MW-AS".

I can't find that one, but there is this thread which shows him working on a long ladder, however the CT appears to be on the ground.

Yes, he could have custom ordered the hose and the ends seperately. It's a pity I wasn't interested enough at the time to find out what the problem was, but I didn't really like the guy, so I don't want to call him (he did gave me his card, but I don't think I kept it.

About the picture, yes I found that too, I went to his profile and looked through his posts to find it, but couldn't. BTW that was really weird, if I can't find a thread in which I posted, I use that feature of the forum often, this was the first time I used it on someone else, and it felt a bit like stalking, so after a while I gave up.

Well done! Always nice when you prove to yourself (and everyone else!) that your memory isn't playing tricks!

Mind you, I don't think I'd want to balance the extractor that close to my window! Eek!

i too used the gorilla sleeve on 2 hoses, one has the plug-it cord and the other has a regular extension cord. it was quite a trick getting the cord and hose into the sleeve but Patience is a virtue.

I only have shorter hoses (27mm and 36mm x 4m), but I ran Tech-Flex over my cord/hose combos, then used electrical tape to keep the cord and flex from sliding around on the hose.  A note of warning, though, the open "weave" of the tech flex tends to get caught on the corners of things, specifically the guide rails (I do have the hose guide, btw).  Not an issue for most sanding, and I've learned how to setup for cuts where this might be an issue.  Still worth mentioning, though.
