Just recently found this site.  I've been a Festool customer for many years, however it always seems that I buy things about 6 months too early.  I bought an OF 1000 router about 4 or 5 months before the OF 1010 came out.  Same with my driver drill.  The one abandoned baby I won't complain about is my TS-65.  Just enough bigger than the TS-55, but not the monster that the TS-75 is. The only problem is that the 190mm blades are hard to find.  By the way where do you FOG'ers send your lovely Festool blades for resharpening?

I'm in the process of sort of reclaiming my shop.  We moved a couple years ago, and since then every project has involved almost as much looking for stuff as building.  I decided to make the shop itself the next project.  Lost a few bits of hardware for one of my two MFT fences, so I was Googling around to find repair parts.  Found them and this forum as well!  [big grin]  Great service on repair parts.  Had them in just a couple days.

I'll be lost in the archives for the next several evenings.  Thanks for the wonderful forum.

Welcome, I'm sure you'll find some good/useful info. Make sure to check out the list of links, maintained by Forrest. Your timing sounds like what I ran into with the MFT, I picked up a 1080 and a few months later here comes the MFT3.

Welcome to FOG!
On the resharpening question, ask around local cabinet shops for the alpha sharpener in your area.  There's probably one with CNC equipment that can sharpen darn near anything.  In my part of the desert Southwest US, its Precision Sharpening in Albuquerque.  My Festool blades come back cutting wood like butter.

Thanks for the welcome.

As for the local "alpha dog" sharpener, I have my reservations.  I've seen really expensive blades completely trashed by sharpeners that were supposed to be the best for three states around.  More than once.  More than one shop.

Thanks Chris.  That's my AVATAR for a tractor web site I frequent, and I don't have any shots from the shop!  It's a 2003 Model 4410 with front end loader and removable backhoe.  A John Deere fetish can be even more financially crippling the a Festool fetish.  [scared]

Yes it is. I had a 4400 with a loader & BH. I traded it for a 4710 with a loader & BH. My daughter & her husband are now using it in their lawn care business.
I now have a 2320 with a loader that I use at home & really like it.  TractorByNet is a nice site also.

Welcome, and thanks for joining.

I also got in on the OF 1000, the mft1080, and an atf-55. I still have the OF 1000 and mft 1080. I sold the atf to a worthy friend.

There are a lot of things I like about the older mft 1080 that has kept me from giving it up. I just need to bring it to height with the mft/3 and find a way to join them that will keep the holes aligned. The only thing I don't like about the OF 1000 is no plug-it. It's a bit of a pain in my configuration, but not enough to have me take the loss of selling it and replacing with an OF 1010.

Welcome Jeff,

Like steve said, for reference purposes, check out Forrest & also check out Brice Burrels web site, he has tested just about everything & what he don't know, you dont need to know.  Between these 2 you will be sorted.
