Build a few longboards with boys. We used Baltic birch plywood sapele, walnut, maple, rouse wood, bubinga veneer, with some minwax oil-based poly on them

Do you know if anyone makes trucks that would cope with a boarder weighing 120kg (~270lbs)? All skateboards incl. longboards sold here put a max. weight of rider at either 80kg or 100kg.
I've been thinking of building myself a longboard with a thick enough deck for my weight to go along my son to the skateboard park, but I'm assuming that the weight limit is more related to the trucks or more specifically the rubber bushings in them? At least it was always the rubber blocks that split when I was young and skated alot.

Reiska, What a let down! I have always thought you are a "Hacker." Now, I find you are really a "Cracker." [poke]

It's on my wishlist to make a new longboard.
Almost a shame to put griptape on them nice veneers, maybe transparant is an option?
@Reiska
Buy Independent trucks, they come in a wide range of widths to suit your board

Back in the days they were considered the rolls royce of skateboarding trucks.
They may be more expensive, but it's all value for money, same as the green [smile]
