So I want to go straight out of the extractor with a 90* elbow going straight down and hook my hose up to that.  I've been looking for 2 1/4" but haven't been able to find one.  Is there one?

A single 90 degree bend will kill the flow through the duct and two 45's are thought to be better (maybe) though in PVC there are short bends and long bends. There was a study done of this, post 23 in this link addresses the problem.https://www.woodworkforums.com/f200/draft-ducting-recommendations-232898

There is a lot of verifiable data on ducted systems and any who is doing it or even has a ducted system will gain a lot of knowledge from reading the whole thing as I doubt there is anywhere else with the same advice that has been verified. That forum has the best dust control for WW's in the world with no exception.

This is exactly why the overarm dust collection as supplied in a SawStop setup doesn't work (unless you have an industrial scale dust collection system)! I made mine work by connecting the overarm dust collection directly to a shop vac.

Long story short, dust collection out of the back of a saw has a 2 1/4" ID, 2 9/16" OD.  I need to use a 90* long or short to go straight down.  All I can find are 2 1/2" elbows.  I'm looking for a 2 1/4".

Take a look at this. It says 2-1/2" on their website but the hose port (female) measures 2-1/4" ID. I didn't take a picture of the male side, but it was 2-9/32 OD and fits into a vacuum dust port (mine is Fein but the size should be standard).

Is the 90 needed on the vac  or the saw?  Which hose?

This is a far better connector than a dead 90* one for airflow. When I can't find something of the desired diameter, I go for something larger and use electrical tape and/or Telfon tape to get the perfect fit.

Thanks!  Just ordered 2 of them.

I use several of the Oneida 90s on various tools where I do not want the hose to protrude from the extractor, one on my 26 with the work center on, on the lower outlet on my 40s era Delta table saw..no longer a tilting table.  Anywhere that the hose sticks straight out and annoys me.

All I see are 2 1/2” elbows. No 2 1/4” OD or 2 9/16” ID.

My new oneida 2.5 did not come with any elbows. I think they realized it's too much of a restriction

The typical rule of thumb for the HVAC industry is that every 90º angle added to a system is the equivalent of adding 10' of straight ductwork. So if you look up the install manual for exhaust on a dryer or the intake/exhaust on a water heater or furnace, there is always a chart that will state "if you use 1 elbow the max run is XXX feet, if you use 2 elbows the max run is XX feet", and so on.

It's also better to use 2 each 45º elbows with a short straight between them or 4 each 22.5º elbows with short straights than a single 90º elbow.

The other alternative is to use a long radius elbow, but they can be difficult to find.

They are showing adapters to allow 2-1/2” to mate to 2-1/4”.  I would probably do that anyway as the 2-1/2” fittings are more common.  If you want to remain within the 2-1/4” system, your options are more limited.

I received the elbows and they are just what I needed.  Thank you so much.  I searched and never ran into these on the interweb, so would never have found them on my own.  Thanks again!
