Looking for Bluetooth hearing protection recommendation.

So I'm looking for hearing protection with Bluetooth technology.

At the moment I plug some earbuds into my Samsung cell phone, turn on Pandora and place my 3M hearing protection over the earbuds and cut the grass.

I'm tired of having the wire hang from my ears.  Plus, the earbuds can get annoying sometimes.   I may catch the wire on a branch or on my arm.  

So does anyone know of a good set of hearing protection with Bluetooth?

I want to be wireless.  So I don't want/need a set with a MP3 jack or AM/FM radio.   I did a quick search on Amazon and found tactical hearing protection, but they have a microphone

with them and a price tag that starts around $300  [scared].    

So if you're wearing hearing protection with Bluetooth, please share what brand and model your using.   Thanks guys!

I use Peltor ws alert xp, will mist likely be branded as 3M in US. But here in Sweden the are called Peltor. Works like a charm. Perfekt sound and perfekt protection. And you can talk in your phone att the same time as you ar using tour ts55. Not cheep, but really good. Just like festool ;-).
 
Mark (Wood Whisperer) covered a really good option in the May episode (youtube or podcast) called "Safety Upgrades".  Basically it's a pair of good ear muffs with a headphone jack, a small male to male headphe jack adapter that is solid (no cable), and a small bluetooth receiver.  I've switched to this setup and really like it too. No cables and sub $100 for high quality ear protection and good sound.

I've been using Blue Buds X from Jaybird. Awesome sound, thumping bass, does very well when I'm mowing, battery life is 8 hours or so. Doesn't require BTLE so it'll work with pretty much any BT device. And you can get an assortment of buds from a third party that's bound to have something comfortable. Plus they're lifetime guarrenteed against perspiration damage so you can workout with them. I use them when running, woodworking, yard work and even in the office. You can pick them up for as little as $119 from amazon prime warehouse for "like new" or $169 new but they do go on sale periodically for 25% off. I'd strongly recommend them. They've got an adjustable cord that can either lay on your neck or be adjusted so they fit against the back of your head. And setting them up is a no brainer. They even "talk" to you when the are powering up, powering down and connecting to a device.  Just my 0.02.

So from the searching that I've been doing….Hearing protection with bluetooth is not an option, unless tactical hearing protection is used.  Which cost too much for what I'm using them for.

BUT bluetooth headphones are widely available. 

So I ordered a cheap pair of bluetooth headphones off Amazon.  I just hope they cancel enough of the surrounding noise (lawn mower) while I'm jamming to Whitney Houston,
Celine Dion and Metallica while cutting the grass. 

Thanks guys for sharing what you've been using.    The Blue Buds look cool, but I would like something that covers the ear for more noise cancelation.

I'll find out in a few days if the  Photive BTH3 headphones work out.

Try the Ryobi Tek 4 hearing protector. It provides good sound reduction and has an input for phone, iPod, or whatever. It is a wired connection so I use short coiled cable between a shirt pocket and the unit that doesn't get caught on anything when mowing or woodworking. It's under $40 and it's green.

I too went with the Ryobi Tek 4 and am happy I did for $40 (from HD online).  Not as high a volume level as I'd like, but acceptable.  I like that I can have the mic on to whatever sensitivity I choose so I can here kids upstairs, doorbell ring, whatever... or I can mute it all right out.  I tend to turn mic up slightly to be able to hear pitch of bandsaw or TS75 or whatever to gauge appropriate feed rate, but turn it off for sanding.
 
I use the LG HBS-730 headphones.  Battery life is all day, and they actually cancel noise out fairly well.  If I don't have them in and I turn my table saw on, the noise actually "hurts" since I'm so used to having them on during the day.  I also use a gas trimmer when I do yard work, and there's no way I would ever use the trimmer without ear protection.  But the headphones do the trick, and I can still hear the music quite well.

Was in the same boat as you, wanted some for work to kill off the nasty country music so I could listen to my favourite NZ rock station but found nothing cheap. Finally ordered some Howard Leight sync with built in speakers and a small blue tooth adapter from jumbl that plugs in direct. Should have them here this week to test.

That's the setup I use, I think you'll enjoy it.  Good protection and no wires to get tangled or yanked.

First of all. Nice job with the kitchen!

I'm using Peltor Litecom hearing protection and they are the best.

BT is working really well. For my work I often need to communicate via radio which also has a very good quality.

For me Peltors are the best for more then 2 decades.

I'm often working in the workshop and keeping the headset on while listening to the radio via BT. Can still hear everything around me.

In general for most hearing protection the worst thing is that they block everything around you. Also when others try to warn you. With the peltors I can hear everything around me but still protect my ears, make phone call when on heavy equipment without the other side even knowing that I'm on a job site.
