When I bought mine, I found that a basic Google search found me the cheapest price. The two dealers I tend to alternate between are Powertools UK AND FFX. Although I'm wondering whether you may get a good deal at the "Unplugged tour" the Festool are doing? Others here may be able to confirm whether that might be a possibility or not.
As a side note, you won't be disapppointed, it's an amazing saw.

looking at them myself also.
powertool-supplies seem to be the best for price if getting a package. ie ug set etc.
So VERY tempted but i wonder when a revised model may come out.

I revived an email this morning- FFX warehouse clearance and got a very good deal on a kapex 120

I got that e-mail too, but the 'clearance' prices on the Festool aren't any better than their usual prices. The KS120 (240V) is still cheaper from Powertool Supplies.

Looks like a good deal from FFX.
If your not too far from st Albans try Healys Tools at E.D Elsons builders merchants,  they usually match prices and very good service.
I know you might get cheaper on net but you can't beat face to face with a good dealer, especially when you need back up.

Can anyone answer these please:

When did the kapex come out was it 2008?

When did it last get a "refresh" if it has at all?

Thanks

I can't tell you the date, but there have not been any "refreshments."

Peter

Edit:  I just found a reference to the Kapex being introduced in Europe in 2007.

Thanks Peter
To be honest i'm fighting hard to not buy one lol.
My dewalt dws780 is a decent saw though, especially after i put a 80 tooth freud blade on it.
I think i'll fight the urge, buy a ts55 saw with guide rail kit instead and wait for a "refresh" of the kapex.
It's going to be hard to... but i must.  :o

I held off buying my Kapex until my previous mitersaws died.  I have enjoyed using my Kapex for all of my mitersaw needs since 2010 and have only one mitersaw for cutting everything.

For most people I would suggest that a track saw can be more of a game changer in their arsenal than a Kapex versus another mitersaw.  Being able to cut a long straight line with confidence and accuracy allows users to do things that they were unable or scared to do in the past.  Of course there are many ways to make all the various cuts, but I know I smile every time I drop a rail on two pencil marks and go to town.

Well Peter
I did get the ts55r tracksaw and it's amazing.
BUT... I also caved in and today ordered a KAPEX 120 with UG cart and l/r wings  [embarassed] [scared] [big grin]
