Looking to purchase a jigsaw

The ergonomics on the Carvex are vastly superior to any barrell grip jigsaw on the market.    It has that going for it.

I just completed a project using only the Carvex exclusively just to put it through its paces and see if I can duplicate any of the issues some seem to have come across.  I even used the jigsaw for crosscuts  where I would normally use my miter saw.  I must say I was stumped because the jigsaw performed flawlessly and sliced through 6/4 Poplar with ease.

Two 85”x50” sliding doors installed on a single track bypass setup with the Carvex the ONLY saw I used for test purposes...

Having never owned a Carvex, please identify the issues you state others have come across.

Some have commented on issues with “smoothness,” power, blade changes, etc.  My Carvex (barrel-style) is smooth and rips right through 6/4 Poplar, Alder, Maple, Oak, and Ash with ease.  Dust collection is very good and blade change literally takes maybe 10 seconds longer than my Mafell. But how often are we changing blades?  For me using the Carvex for 99% wood cutting I am going on a year with no blade change yet.  Now it’s not used daily, but gets occasional use.
