Woohoo!  [scared]

I received a message from Shane today saying I'd won this awesome drill set and it completely made my day as you might imagine. I've been trying to scrimp enough cash together for the CXS as the T-series was way over my budget and then this happens! I've been itching for a Festool cordless for years, I don't even have a cordless at the moment because I didn't want to buy another brand. This will help my fledgling business no end and will be a most welcome addition to my shop. I guess it's time to start looking at drill accessories  [big grin]

Huge thanks go out to Festool and Shane for these amazing sweepstakes. You guys are awesome  [not worthy]

Thanks guys,

I'm really psyched about it. I've been in a state of shock all afternoon and still can't believe it. I have to keep going back to the email to make sure I'm not dreaming [laughing]

Congratulations, Gary!

Glad it went to someone who was saving for exactly that!

Do post your impressions on it.  I have yet to use a T-drill from Festool.

Yes, congrats Gary! I'm sure it will be put to good use.

I should mention the reason that Gary's just announcing that he won is because after multiple attempts to contact our May winner, he forfeited the prize because he did not respond to notification of having won within the 14 day window. So, we selected a runner-up to win the prize, which was Gary.

You can't win if you don't enter and it only takes 2-3 minutes tops.

I'll definitely be doing a writeup and take some action shots once it's here. It's the least I can do as thanks for a wonderful gift  [smile]

If you haven't already done so, visit http://www.festoolsweepstakes.com for a chance to win a TS 55 + CT 26 before the end of the day tomorrow! Come back next month for your chance to win a DOMINO joiner + tenon assortment Systainer.

Good luck to everyone!

I came home to find a shiny new brown cardboard box on the porch today  [tongue]

I grabbed it up, took it into the house, put it down and was just reaching for the knife to open it with when a voice from the other room said 'we need cat food, can you go get it' [sad] So, I return a little later and feed the stupid cats.

Finally I got to open the package.... oh boy, what a sweet toy! Of course I sat there like a two year old on the floor playing with all the bits, chuck goes on, chuck comes off, etc etc. It was just way too much fun without even drilling anything. Once I'd finished playing about I took it out on the deck to have a little test drive, drilled some holes and then used a carbide burr at low speed as a rotary file. It was easier to control than the Proxxon I normally use, the slower speed makes it pretty forgiving, the Proxxon starts at 5k RPM and goes up. I was very surprised at the level of control on the trigger, precision holes are easy with this drill. My favorite head is the offset chuck as it lets me put the bit at the top and cup the chuck in my hand for absolute accuracy with small holes, I don't normally go much over 3/16" but getting them in the right place was always difficult as the bits still tend to skid off mark a little when starting the drill. Not with this baby! Dead on and clean thanks to the incredibly smooth and slow startup possible.

I'll be posting more and adding some pics in a few days. For now, let's just say I'm totally thrilled with it and it's every bit as good as my other Festools. The T12 is going to see a lot of use drilling, driving, carving, sanding, buffing and anything else I can think of (Festool powered bicycle?)

I've already managed to use all but one compartment in the Sys 1 parts box too for my commonly used bits and bobs :)

It's all way too cool.

Congrats Gary!  You are going to love the drill and you will be amazed at the power it has.  The T style drills are very comfortable in the hand.

That's awesome.  What a cool surprise.  I'm sure that made your day / week / month.  Again, congrats and enjoy the thing.

Thanks, I'll be enjoying this for many years to come I'm sure.
I know tools are meant to be a means to an end but you gotta love great engineering :)  I feel the same way about my wee Proxxons for the mini stuff, Dremel can only dream of being this good. Oddly, both Germanic brands, who would have guessed  [wink]

I need to measure how big around the offset chuck is so I can make a clamp for it. Then I can do some static stand drilling too.
