Louvre jig

Neil, Welcome to the FOG!

If when you asking about a louver jig, if you are talking about a jig to allow for doing the mortises for louvers to fit into, then not to the best of my memory would be my answer.  However, at least one of our members has done that using the Domino.

Thanks Tom!  That's it.  (At least my long term memory isn't gone  [big grin])

Here is the video that Brice did:

Neilthecarpenter, [welcome] to the FOG!

You'll get great answers here, and usually pretty fast - like the 12 minutes it took you to get a post from one of our esteemed global moderators! Tough to find that kind of action on any other forum, isn't it?

Whether you end up doing it with Festool or not, please post pictures of your project. We LOVE pictures!!!

Another method is to fix the domino, or router and track to a jig and move the stile stock along in a indexed track (slot jig lined with pegboard--stile fitted with peg to use the indexing provided by the spacing in the pegboard. No measuring, no marking, no worries about lining the tool up, since the stock is moving instead.

Took about an hour to build the jig. I think we got about 10 mortises per minute with this method.

I wrote an article on the process I used for JLC, you have to be a subscriber to read it though:  http://www.jlconline.com/switchers-and-routers/on-the-job--replacement-shutters-made-simpler.aspx

Why not router them in to the stiles, easy with a home made jig. Just cut slots to take the louvers.
