lr 32 set up with of 1400

hi all , newbie question, do I need to centre guide with the mandrill and the of 1400 as I don't have a 8mm collet, or can I just  go straight ahead and screw guide to the router? thanks Russell.

If you don't use a centre guide the cutter is not in the middle of the router but the holes will be spaced 32mm apart.

As long as you reference from only the top or bottom of the side, the shelf holes will be correctly aligned to each other but the layout will not be to the LR32 standard.

It will work but the risk of error is very great. You cannot interrupt the drilling, use the router for something else, and then reset the router for more drilling as the cutter will not be in the same place.

Did your 1400 router not come with a 8mm collet?  Check the systainer!

Also, if you're using the LR32 set's shelf pin bits, you're going to need to find that 8mm collet, too.

thanks for answer. of1400 comes with 1/4 and 1/2 only in the uk so seems I will need to buy the 8mm.
