So, I added to my Festool sander collection today and picked up a LS130 should be here Fri.  Been thinking about one for awhile and ran into a project sanding some exterior lights that I could use it on.  Just curios to to hear from other owners of the LS what are some of the jobs/tasks you found that the sander excels at other than the obvious molding sanding.  Any lovers/haters of the LS130 out there?

thanks for the link.  Not sure what to expect now.  Seems to be a fair share of folks that are under whelmed by the LS 130 performance.  I guess well see.

I think that some people are underwhelmed because they don't really understand that it isn't an aggressive sander.  It is a niche sander along the lines of a body shop straight line sander.  (That is not a niche tool in the body shop arena.)

Great sander, but very specific uses. I bought one for a handrail and have found other uses for it. The flat sanding pad for it is of very limited use as there are better choices.

Really cool sander, love all the profiles available for it. Used it last summer on my porch deck to remove the 2 layers of paint in between the board edges that i couldnt get at with my rotex. Used a combination of the beveled edge scraper and 90 degree pad.

I bought one last year for the edges of my deck too. Worked great. Saved me a ton of time.

I bought mine for doing coves on solid surface counter tops. Otherwise I rarely use it, but there are times it is the "only" option. The LS130 being a non aggressive straight line sander is perfect for sanding soft materials.

We had one at the old shop that really only was ever used for solid surface cove splashes. It was great for that though, but it was never replaced. They were hard to get, now nearly impossible.

When I refinished my Adirondacks a few years ago I cut a pad in order to sand the lower slats as the standard pad would gouge the adjacent ones.
