Lumber options in NYC area

The question about extended and exotic lumber options in NJ has prompted me to ask the same question, but for the New York metro region.  The places I've gone to before are Dykes Lumber in Long Island City, and Rosenzweig Lumber in the Bronx, but I'm wondering if there are any better places I might have missed (and particularly ones that are cost competitive).

Condon lumber in white plains has a good selection of lumber and exotic ply. Not sure how exotic you want to get.

Thanks for the suggestions.  Nothing too exotic -- as long as they carry stuff like Mahogany and then choice cuts from the more run of the mill woods (QSO, figured maple).  I'm not too far from Deer Park, so I'll maybe check them out first.

Hey there Edward - I'm doing this same odyssey from the NJ side of things (I'm in Bergen County).  Basically I've been emailing everyone in the area to see if the carry 1) Baltic Birch and 2) A good supply of hardwoods.

If you're in NYC, I've had luck with Kuiken Brothers in Midland Park and Wood Boards and Beams in Fairfield.  I'll second Condon in White Plains -- though they don't have Saturday hours.  Also, US Mahogany in Aberdeen gets great marks but I haven't taken the trip down there yet.  Rugby in the Bronx is an option (moreso for ply).

Dykes has multiple locations, in Queens, Manhattan and Brooklyn.  They sell 5x5 sheets of Baltic Birch for $75, but not sure how that compares to other places.

I think I may make a pilgrimage to Boards and Beams in Fairfield at some point -- their prices look really good, and they will surface the wood for you for a little extra, which might be worth it depending upon the grain/species (I only have the Dewalt portable planer, and have never tried to surface anything super hard or figured).

Thanks for that. Going to take a trip to Dyke's this weekend.
Also, if you're out by Boards and Beams, Forest Lumber in that area seems to be pretty good too.
