Hey any P1 owners here can confirm if when gently shaking the jigsaw there is something loose inside the motor housing. Brand new unit here and something is loose inside.

If either of the bases are firmly attached, mine doesn’t rattle.

If the base isn’t on, then the base attachment nut & clamp will rattle.

Same here. No rattles unless i take the base off

Not the base. The sound comes from the front part where the blade release lever is. Just by gently rocking it back and forth I hear and feel a sound and something moving.

I can confirm there is a rattle.  It sounds like some captive part of the drivetrain that has a fixed amount of room to move.  The sound is very consistent as opposed to loose broken bits moving all over the insides.  Saw works fine, so I’m not concerned.

Mine has a rattle also. When I shake as you say I hear it. However, when I open the blade release lever and shake, it is still there but a lot less. Very faint. My saw works fine also.

This is the sound. I am just gently shacking the saw left and right.

I’m glad this thread came up, because if I buy a P1. I will inform the shop, if it doesn’t rattle, I don’t want it. They might even throw in some “shake” and “roll” to go with the “rattle”  [tongue]  [wink]

Mine sounds just like yours. But, like I said when I open the blade release mechanism the sound becomes very faint.
Sending it back is your decision. I have had mine for a year and a half and never had a problem.
