Make an adaptor for thin workpiece holding with Festool Vac Sys

Thats a pretty nice resolution.  I would have a hard time getting that air hole all the way through. Looks like you did a good job on it.  Thanks for sharing this tip.

Great tip Robert...nice simple approach on the adapter and nice execution on cutting the vacuum seal.  [big grin]  That adhesive foam tape looks interesting, what is it normally used for?

Cheese, I've made dozens of vac jigs over the last 50 years, using self adhesive weatherseal.  I usually use Frost King 5/16 in. x 1/4 in. x 17 ft. White D-Center EPDM Medium Gap Weatherseal Tape that can be split.  I keep mine paired and overlap the ends. His jig is nice but you would not need the vertical wood part to be so high making drilling the air hole easier make.  I store my jigs with a piece of acrylic to protect the seals in storage.

A clever trick indeed. The tall vertical board is needed because the OP uses it with the edge sanding guide.

I'd drill the long holes from both ends, using a self-centering doweling jig or a simple block with a guide bushing.
