Makita Brush Sander or other alternative to BMS 180 Rustofix

Was drooling over the BMS180 Rustofix, since I have a project coming up where I might distress some wood.  But since it's NAINA I'm looking at possible alternatives, and came across the Makita Brush sander.  Anyone use this to create textures in wood, or is it more just a cleaning tool?  Any other options as far as matching the capabilities of the BMS180?

I have the HL850, but the textures it creates are a bit too heavy for what I'm searching for with this project, which is more of a wire-brushed look.

I've owned the Makita for about 2 years. Only used the nylox brush that comes with the unit. Good dust collection and can texture, just not really aggressively. There are several different brushes available but I haven't found the need yet.

I have the makita and I use it a lot to give a textured finish to reclaimed lumber I use for furniture.  I prefer the 80 grit wheel to the 120 grit it comes with. Haven't needed to try the wire head you can get.

Gives a nice weathered type of texture.

Makita or Metabo are the only ones I've seen here. I think you can get the Fein too, but I've only heard about it in tales.

I have the cordless Metabo, which is nice for when you're trying to refinish stainless without the cord slapping your work surface.

Eastwood sells a similar looking tool called the SCT if you're looking for something on the low end of the scale.

I have a Flex 1503 VR-SET but I have not used it to distress wood.  It's great for paint and rust stripping but I have not bought the wire canister youtube.com/watch?v=aOByca3jPi8.  I also have the LBR 1506 VRA which is real beast for round work.
